Fabricate quartz lamp components from stock to finish using propane/oxygen torch and mouth blowing rubber tube. Assemble and finish the whole lamp. Operate high vacuum system and fire furnace in lamp fabricating process. Operate spot-welding machine. Perform electrical and UV light tests for lamps.
Report directly to the Foreman in the department.
Take work tasks from department Foreman.
Prepare the working area for assigned tasks, organize parts and materials to be used, get tools, fixtures and equipment ready.
Fulfill work tasks as assigned by the department Foreman.
Conduct basic maintenance for own tools, fixtures and equipment.
Understand and follow OSHA safety rules (fire torch, electrical, and mercury, etc.) related to work environment.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualification for the position:
High school level or equivalent, vocational training or community college preferred.
Verbal communication, simple writing and math skills required.
Be able to read (or willing to be trained) basic technical drawings and electrical diagrams.
Skilled (or willing to be trained) in glass blowing.
Be able to lift up 50 pounds of weight.
