Spectronics Corporation exhibited its OPTI-LUX™ 365 UV LED leak detection flashlight at this year’s Grainger Trade Show February 8-13, 2016 in Orlando, FL, alongside other industrial leak detection lamps and kits.
The Spectroline® OPTI-LUX™ 365 leak detection flashlight provides pure UV light for optimal fluorescent dye response, making it ideal for all industrial fluid system leak applications. The flashlight works with all Spectroline™ oil-based fluorescent dyes: OIL-GLO® 22 (yellow), OIL-GLO® 30 (white), OIL-GLO® 33 (green), OIL-GLO® 40 (bright blue), OIL-GLO® 44 (yellow/green), OIL-GLO® 45 (blue) and OIL-GLO® 50 (red), as well as the company’s WATER-GLO® 801 and WATER-GLO® 802 water dyes. It produces a brilliant glow that makes all leaks easier to find, slashing valuable diagnostic time. The flashlight even works with difficult-to-fluoresce dyes in dirty fluids.
The OPTI-LUX 365 is lightweight and more than twice as powerful as most corded, high-intensity UV lamps. “Instant-on” operation enables the flashlight to reach full power immediately, and it provides up to four hours of continuous run-time. Its rugged, anodized aluminum lamp body reduces corrosion and stands up to years of heavy use.
The flashlight comes complete with a lanyard, belt holster, two rechargeable batteries, smart charging cradle with AC power cord and UV-absorbing spectacles. All components are conveniently packaged in a padded carrying case.

Spectroline® MDE-2000NC Marksman™II is an ultrasonic diagnostic tool that converts and amplifies inaudible ultrasonic sound into audible “natural” sound. It allows the technician to “hear” even the smallest compressed air, natural gas, propane tank, vacuum, steam, and other pressurized leaks…before they lead to major breakdowns.
This cutting-edge tool uses a two-tiered approach to ensure accurate diagnosis. The receiver converts inaudible ultrasonic sound into audible sound using heterodyne circuitry. Then, its unique Sound Signature Technology “fine tunes” the audible sound into the natural sound emitted by the leak itself. A 5-LED signal intensity indicator and audible alarm pinpoint the exact source of the problem. An Internal Noise Control (INC) feature safeguards against ambient noise.
The Marksman II comes complete with an ultrasonic receiver, full-sized, heavy duty, noise-canceling headphones, a hollow air probe to isolate leak sources in cramped places, a solid contact probe to find gear and bearing wear in internal parts and electric motors, and an ultrasonic emitter that helps locate faulty seals, gaskets and weatherstripping in doors, windows, ductwork and other non-pressurized enclosures. Spectroline® EK-365 EagleEye™ UV/White Light LED Leak Detection Lamp Kit enables maintenance professionals to locate industrial leaks in cramped or hard-to-reach areas larger lamps can’t.
This unique kit features a palm-sized, lightweight, cool-running lamp. It has two ultra-high intensity UV LEDs for fluorescent leak detection, plus a three-LED white light assembly for illuminating dark work areas. With power comparable to high-intensity 100-watt lamps, the unit works with all oil- and water-based fluorescent dyes. It is especially effective with difficult-to-fluoresce yellow, white and blue dyes, and it even works in dirty fluids. This versatile lamp can be hand-held, worn on a hard hat, or directly on the head for hands-free operation.

Jon Cooper, President of Spectronics Corporation had the honor of attending a White House briefing on international trade policy in Washington, DC. yesterday afternoon. He spent several hours meeting with numerous administration officials, including the Secretary of Commerce, the Director of the White House's National Economic Council, the Under Secretary for Economic Affairs in the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration.
These officials provided detailed information about a broad range of programs and services that are now available to assist small and medium size businesses. The goal of the federal government is to provide export assistance in order to help grow sales in overseas markets. Spectronics Corporation has announced a strategic supply/market development agreement with Quaker Chemical Corporation to support Quaker’s soon-to-be announced lines of fire-resistant hydraulic fluids incorporating FluidSafe™, Spectronics’ unique fluorescent safety additive. Spectronics and Quaker Chemical have already been supplying longwall fluids with FluidSafe™ to the Australian market, and the new agreement expands this effort globally.
In line with this partnership, Spectronics will be amalgamating its Alerton International subsidiary with the parent company and moving the FluidSafe™ product line under its Spectroline® brand.

Spectronics Corporation has announced the promotion of Debra Hammond to Global Customer Service Manager.
Debbie started her career at Spectronics more than 20 years ago as an International Customer Service Specialist, eventually moving on to Department Manager in 1998. Her positive, “can-do” attitude and outstanding work ethic made her a perfect choice for the Global Customer Service Manager position.
In her new role, Debbie will be responsible for streamlining the daily work flow of both the International and Domestic customer service departments, which in the future will be referred to as the Global Customer Service Department. “My primary focus will be to continue to maintain, nurture and strengthen the customer relationships our sales team creates worldwide. These relationships are critical, since our customers will continually come back to us when their needs are satisfactorily addressed,” says Debbie.
